ENSA’s commitment to non-GMOs

ENSA members recognise that European consumers prefer non-GMO products. That’s why ENSA and its members have, for years, shown a strong commitment against the use of GMOs in their soy products.  The health impacts of GMOs and their effect on the environment are key concerns.

ENSA members have made a clear choice to use only non-genetically modified crops of soy beans and have adopted strict supply policies to guarantee this. For this reason, ensuring consumers are accurately informed about the products they purchase is essential. Consumers have the right to know whether a product they consume contains GMOs or if it is GMO-free.

ENSA calls for the adoption of harmonised rules for GM-free labeling. This would provide consumers with the information they want and guarantee a clear framework for food manufacturers to use across Europe.
