Preambule
The European Natural Soyfoods Manufacturers Association (ENSA) represents the interests of natural soyfood manufacturers in Europe. The current members of the association are:
- Alpro Nv., Hain Europe (Belgium),
- TRIBALLAT NOYAL, Nutrition et Soja (France),
- Valsoia (Italy),
- Liquats Vegetals (Spain),
- Mona Naturprodukte (Austria),
- Wild, De -Vau-Ge und Tofutown (Germany).
Since the establishment of the association in 2003, the main aim of the association has been to provide:
- up-to-date, accurate and as objective as possible scientific information about soy products and their health benefits;
- technical and product-related information on the product category of soyfood, which assists national and European regulators in drafting the rules necessary to provide a clear legislative framework for soy products;
- positions on policy and regulatory issues of importance to its members at EU level.
In order to guarantee better information on soyfood products produced by the ENSA members is provided to consumers and European regulators, the association decided to create an Ethical Charter.
The objective of the Charter is to make the ENSA members responsible for better food safety with regards to soyfood products.
Art 1. Production process of soyfood products
The members of the association pledge to produce their soyfood products using only natural production processes.
Art 2. Soya and genetically modified organisms
The ENSA members pledge to guarantee that their products are free of GMOs.
Art 3. Source of supply of soya
The ENSA members certify that the soy they use does not come from ancient rain forest land.
Art 4. Scientific researches
The ENSA members pledge to encourage and promote scientific research on soy, in particular via financial support.
